Summary

The Freight Forwarding Administration Manager reports to the SGM, Freight Forwarding Administration.

The Freight Forwarding Administration Manager, based out of one of the US locations of LOGISTEED America, Inc. is responsible for managing and coordinating activities of the Freight Forwarding Administration department. This role is also responsible for enhancing productivity and aiding Senior Management and the sales team to make better strategic judgements with more accurate data and information.

Essential Duties & Functional Responsibilities

OPERATIONAL

  • Meet attendance & punctuality standards 
  • Clearly define FF Administration Department responsibilities and communicate said pillars internally
  • Monitor FF Administration Department’s ongoing activities and ensure alignment with defined responsibilities
  • Monitor FF Administration team member’s individual task trackers and review with regular check ins 
  • Knowledgeable of government agencies requirements for freight forwarding and Customs
  • CargoWise One maintenance and procedures as it relates to freight forwarding operations
  • Manage operational risk logs, including OPLs, announcements and incident reporting
  • Standardize SOPs and Workflows within each department to ensure best practices
  • Work with branches to ensure full utilization of CargoWise One functionality
  • Manage agent relations by preparing and maintaining agency agreements in CW1 eDocs 
  • Act in a support role for internal and external reporting by freight forwarding managers and staff 
  • FMC filing maintenance and audits
  • Conduct review sessions with BMs and Sales VP to review service levels for on-boarding clients 
  • Work in conjunction with Lading Corp and staff for testing of Automated Container Tracking and other CW1 functionality
  • Support freight forwarding staff daily and act as liaison between freight forwarding staff and other departments
  • Ensure a culture and work environment in line with the company’s core value of respect
  • Travel both domestically and internationally according to business needs

  • Managing employee interaction that includes: employee development, one on one coaching, managing department efficiency and are looking for ways to systematize the business

COLLABORATIOIN

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing department for industry updates, carrier and agent location delays
  • Support U.S. Operations staff, Sales staff and Clients with various business needs requests

 Supervisory Responsibility

This position manages key direct reports of the operation and is responsible for the performance management of the employees within that department. 

Preferred Qualifications, Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities and Working Conditions

Previous Work Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding

 Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or similar
  • Equivalent work experience will be considered

  • Detail oriented with ability to solve problems independently as well as in a team environment
  • Proven strong business acumen 
  • Demonstrated experience interacting, developing and maintaining customer relationships

Work Environment

Ninety-five percent of the work time will be spent in an office/work from home setting where the environment is climate controlled. Five percent of work time may be spent in various warehouse or other locations where the environment is not climate controlled (hot and cold seasonally).
