Summary
This position reports to Import Operations Manager – CHB. The successful candidate in this position will possess key skills and experience which include knowledge of international import transportation, import brokerage procedures, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (“Customs”), and Participating Government Agency (“PGA”) requirements including the clearance process, classification and valuation.
This role primarily requires the individual to manage accounts from A to Z, prepare all documentation necessary to clear merchandise through Customs and any applicable PGA, provide excellent, thorough, and prompt customer service and perform any tasks assigned by the Manager, Supervisor, or Team Lead that meets the needs of the team and department.

Essential Functions
OPERATIONS
- Performing tasks safely

- Classifying imported commodities, filing entries, and resolve any issue related to Customs clearance with help of CHB
- Entering and transmitting ISFs (Importer Security Filing) for ocean shipments
- Obtaining, checking and/or preparing all transportation documentation to meet Customs and insurance requirements, packing specifications, and compliance with local and international regulations
- Entering data of client shipment detail and updating shipment information and/or status
- Resolving customer issues, handling and solving incidents (e.g. disputes)
- Preparing Customs entries, including HTS classification, data input, customer invoicing and delivery of freight
- Preparing and filing of ACH statements
- Coordinating with US Customs Brokerage to guide the freight efficiently through complex import procedures.
- Communicating with Customs and Other Government agencies to ensure accurate compliance
- Working closely with customers, colleagues and third parties to ensure smooth operations to deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and produce accurate output in high pressure and fast pace environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as customer and business need dictates
- Assisting supervisor and performing other duties as assigned by the Manager

Previous Work Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ operational freight forwarding experience preferred
Education and Certifications
- High school diploma / GED required
- Equivalent work experience will be considered
